Beginning as an MC at a young age, he quickly became a core figure in Manchester’s underground music scene, building a reputation through individual releases, noteworthy collaborations and an exceptional work ethic. Strategy went on to form the renowned Mancunian hip-hop crew Broke’n’£nglish alongside MC DRS and Konny Kon, touring extensively and supporting the likes of Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Snoop Dogg, Dizzee Rascal and Method Man. Never one to be restricted to a single genre, he also collaborated with Dub Phizix on Marcus Intalex’s Soul label, before releasing the now-iconic “Marka” alongside Dub Phizix and Skeptical. With millions of streams worldwide, the track received support from Annie Mac, David Rodigan, Skrillex and many more. His career has taken him across the globe, performing everywhere from America and Japan to Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Alongside releases on Exit Records and Tru Thoughts, Strategy has remained a prominent voice in the underground scene, appearing regularly at Keep Hush and helping build Manchester’s thriving bass music community through the acclaimed Well Good Do events. With decades of experience spanning hip-hop, grime and drum & bass, Strategy brings a distinctive lyrical style and serious underground pedigree to every set. Now, Auckland gets its turn. We’re stoked to have Strategy back in the city, bringing his unmistakable vocals, heavyweight catalogue and years of dancefloor experience to the dance.
